our Round Table

Jon Scott Birch (pictured with wife Lauren) is an interdenominational discipleship pastor and has been writing, teaching, counseling, and discipling for over thirty years. His personal ministry, Proximity: Recovering the Lost Art of Discipleship, is a discipleship-driven mission aiming to recover and promote the early church model as recorded in the biblical book of Acts where Jesus Christ, close relationships, and discipleship-apologetics were the pillars of Christianity. Jon’s passion is seeing people come to know Christ personally, reclaiming their identity in Him, understanding discipleship as a way of life and not as a term to define or mere Bible study, and learning to experience relational theology. He graduated from the nondenominational Christian World College of Theology (Salisbury, MD) in 1999 and has studied psychology with extensive experience in counseling and spiritual warfare. Primarily a writer/teacher, Jon has published several books including Gethsemane Moon and The Revelation of Jesus Christ: A Disciple’s Commentary (Resource Publications, 2024/2022). He enjoys reading/studying Scripture, history, historical fiction, and science fiction/fantasy with a particular focus on J.R.R. Tolkien’s scholarship and legendarium. And then there is coffee…
